Terms of Service — Pressabook

Effective date: 31 July 2026 Operator: Grandfield Media, Plot No. 93, Koundinya Nagar, Nacharam, Hyderabad, Telangana 500076, India (“Pressabook”, “we”, “us”) Contact: contact@pressabook.com

1. What Pressabook is

Pressabook (https://pressabook.com) is a software service that generates complete non-fiction book manuscripts and related publishing materials from descriptions you provide, using artificial intelligence. Pressabook is a tool. We are not a publisher, literary agent, or professional advisor, and we do not publish, distribute, or sell your books on your behalf.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for activity on your account. One free credit grant per person; creating multiple accounts to obtain additional free credits is prohibited and may result in suspension.

3. Credits and plans

Generation is metered in credits (1 credit ≈ up to 10,000 words of finished output). Free accounts receive a one-time grant of 7 credits. The paid plan ($24 USD/month) grants 12 credits each billing month; unused credits roll over while your subscription is active. If your subscription is cancelled or lapses, your remaining credit balance is retained but frozen (not spendable) and becomes usable again when you resubscribe. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.

4. Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment processing, applicable sales taxes/VAT/GST, and billing support for transactions. By subscribing you also agree to Paddle’s terms. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future charges and freezes remaining credits per Section 3.

5. Refunds

Our refund rule is simple: if a book was delivered, credits are spent and not refundable; if a generation fails and no book is produced, we will troubleshoot, verify, and return the credits. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details. Subscription payments already made are not refunded on cancellation; you retain access for the paid period.

6. Ownership of output

Subject to these terms and payment of applicable credits, you own the books and materials generated on your account, including full commercial rights to publish, sell, adapt, and distribute them. We claim no royalties and no copyright in your generated output. We may, with your permission, showcase anonymized examples; we will not do so without asking.

You acknowledge that AI-generated content may be similar to content generated for others and may not be protectable by copyright in all jurisdictions; we make no warranty regarding registrability of copyright in generated output.

7. Your responsibilities when publishing

You are solely responsible for how you use generated content, including: complying with the rules of any platform you publish to (for example, Amazon KDP’s requirement to declare AI-generated content); the accuracy of any claims in your book; using a truthful author identity (pen names are fine; fabricated credentials are not); and compliance with laws applicable to you.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use Pressabook to create content that: provides regulated professional advice (medical, legal, financial, tax) presented as professional guidance; is sexually explicit; promotes hatred, violence, or harassment; targets or defames identifiable private individuals; facilitates academic fraud; infringes another work (including requesting reproductions or close imitations of a specific existing book); or otherwise violates our Content Policy or applicable law. We screen requests before generation and may decline them (credits are returned when we decline). Repeated attempts to circumvent screening may result in suspension.

9. Service availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Generation times, model behavior, features, and pricing may change; material pricing changes will be notified in advance and apply from your next billing period.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where practical we will warn first. On account deletion, your files and data are removed per the Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
